Weekend in Avignon

This weekend I went to Avignon with my parents. We stayed in a hotel inside the Castle walls of Avignon. It was really nice in our suite, I even had my own room. There was a lovely breakfast every morning we were there. Yum yum yummy yum Scrumptious!

The bridge looks like it hasn’t been finished, but nearly a thousand years ago in the 11th Century it was built from one side of the river to the other, and it WAS finished. But the last royal person to cross the bridge was Louis XIII and when it half collapsed in the 17th Century the king didn’t want it to be repaired. The bridge was a very important route between Italy and Spain used by pilgrims.

The first night we walked to the Chinese restaurant, it was very rainy. The next day, after the scrumptious breakfast, we went out to the Zoo of the Chateau de la Barben. We saw elephants, giraffes, lions, hippopotomouses and even tapirs. Halfway through it started to rain and rain and rain.

The hippos seemed to like it and do you know what the Grandad Hippo had? Teeth that curled round the sides, you couldn’t miss them. He opened his great big mouth about three times! The hippos went for a dip in their water, they went right under, they can stay underwater for about six minutes.

And do you know what the elephant did? He was batting his string sack of hay, it was so funny. He had a big pile of sand and he was rolling and tossing himself in it having a great play. He was a noisy elephant. Daddy was talking to all the animals like he knew them, some of them came when Daddy spoke, I think he is Dr Doolittle.

On the way back we had some Macdonalds.

When we got back to Avignon, we went to the Christmas market, bought some chocolate and I went on the merry go round. That evening my Mum and I dressed up nice and Daddy took us to Café Crillon to eat tapas. I liked the croquette emmenthal.

And today, we dropped Daddy to the airport, because he is working in Amsterdam, and then we drove home.

Skiing - First Medal

I went skiing with Papa, Maman and Jordan to the Alps. We went in the car, it didnt take very long to get there. When we got there it was snowing. When I woke up on the first morning it was really deep. I did snow angels in the snow.

First I had skiing lessons and I went up on the rope. Then after, when I was a bit better, I went on the lift with the button that you put between your legs, up to the top of the slope. Now, I can ski down easily, quicker than Mummy! I can do snow plough, turning, jumps and I'm not even scared. Next time I want to go on the big cable car and come down with Mummy.

I just go WHOOOOOOSH as I go down.

At the end of the week, I got a medal for my skiing. Mum and Dad were very proud because I had never done it before.

The Nemo Centre Amsterdam

Mummy took Jordan and I to the Nemo Centre on Wednesday. It was really good.

It was about science and we did lots of experiments.

We did a wooden puzzle, some mirror games, a bike wheel force experiment.

I also blocked the water up in a hydro experiment with sandbags and metal blocks.

All three of us went into the real science lab. We put on our white coats and plastic glasses. Our experiment was to make Vitamin C, I chose it.

We did lots of electricity, water, weight, sound, sight, experiments, too many to list them all.

I think my favourite was filtering the water, I had to pump water into my yellow bucket and move along doing different things to clean the water.

This was my best place in Amsterdam and I would like to go there plus a million times more.

Anne Frank's House

We went to Anne Frank's House. I had a questionnaire to fill in about it.

I was really scared because we had to tiptoe and whisper around the place in case anyone found us (like it was for Anne Frank herself).

She was a little Jewish girl who hid with her family for two years in the second war. They hid behind the bookcase in a secret house with another family.

Anne Frank is famous because she wrote a diary and her father was the one who found the diary. The A

Amsterdam Everything

Or Amsterbam (because I don't want to keep saying the "D" word...)

We left very early but I had some breakfast at 4am. When we got the Stansted there was a delay, they didn't want to put the bags on so I think Easyjet helped them and shouted at them to say they had to put the bags on the plane and maybe they helped Ryanair to put the bags on...

Mummy said there was a broken baggage belt.

We joined a long queue to put our bags in, but it didnt move much. In the end we rushed to the front and ran to the gate so we wouldnt miss our plane. Mummy lost her cheap watch and my heart was beating really fast. But we did make it to the plane. Phew!

We met Papa at Eindhoven Station and I ran into Daddy's arms to get a big hug, and he caught me when I jumped up. We went to Daddy's apartment and after I explored, I relaxed and played with my hairstyle playdough.

On Saturday night we stayed at the Hotel Novotel and I slept in the middle of Mummy and Daddy's bed. In the morning I had a nice bath and made some love potions with the soapy water, so that Mummy and Daddy would love eachother from Valentines Day for every day.

When we went to Daddy's apartment I played my magnetics toy and wrote my secret diary, but then its very sad that I lost it or left it there maybe.

We were staying on a boat for the rest of the week. The boat was really pretty, I fed the ducks and seagulls nearly every morning - they had fruit loaf, muffin and bread. On the boat Jordan and I had our own bedroom, Daddy and Mummy had theirs, and I had lots of space for my dance studio and gymn classes.

We went on the Trams a lot and I used my strippen card. My card was pink - only for children.

In Amsterdam there are lots of bikes, and there is lots of walking. The bikes have their own traffic lights and road. We hired a bike with a cart at the front for me to sit in. I sat in the holdall with my furry coat round my legs to keep warm, it was like a picnic when mummy gave me crisps. I saved some food so that I could eat it while Mummy was going along. Jordan had his own bike.

We cycled far, up and down canals, across bridges, passing Anne Franks house and we saw her statue round the corner. At first we could not see it because there was a whole group of school children around her.

One evening we went to the Pancake Bakery, which was nice because I had the princess pancake and got a fluffy sparkly pretty tiara.

I would love to go back there again, maybe when Papa is not working.

Voila Amsterdam.
