Book Review: The Suitcase Kid, by Jacqueline Wilson

The Suitcase Kid is a chapter book. It has letters A-Z instead of chapter numbers.

This book is really good. It is about a girl called Andy, you would think its a boys' name but in actual fact it IS a girl's name as well. Andy has to move house from Mulberry Cottage where there is a Mulberry Tree in the garden. Somebody else moves in.

Andy has to move around from House A to B to C, because her Mum and Dad have split up and this story is all about a suitcase kid. She has one special friend who goes everywhere with her called Radish and every day they go to Mr and Mrs Peters' house to play in the garden.

One day, Andy went to play in Mulberry Cottage garden and she dropped Radish down a hole in the bottom of the tree. Mr and Mrs Peters found Radish and decided to make the tree root a bit more cosy for Radish.

I really liked the story of the Suitcase Kid.

BOOK REVIEW: The Magicians Nephew

The Magicians Nephew is a book that is the introduction to Narnia - its the first book in the chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis.

Introducing the characters:
Polly, Digory, Uncle Andrew, Auntie Letty, Mum, Helen, Cabbie, Jadis, many animals and of course Aslan.

In the beginning Uncle Andrew's magical rings take the children to the Woods between the Worlds, a gateway to the other lands. They jump into a second pool and go to a horrible place with lots of people sitting on thrones, and eventually they go to Narnia using the magical rings... but by accident they take with them Jadis the evil queen.

In Narnia, Aslan tells Digory to go and get the magic Apple with Polly and Fledge. Digory hopes this will heal his sick mother...

The next book in the series is the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, but I have already read that one.

BOOK REVIEW: Little Bill Series

Little Bill - The Worst Day of my Life by Bill Cosby.

A short story, of five chapters, that I could easily read by myself. All my favourite characters from the TV show.

Little Bill dressed very very smart for his Mum and Dad's party. Could he stay tidy for the whole day???
