The bridge looks like it hasn’t been finished, but nearly a thousand years ago in the 11th Century it was built from one side of the river to the other, and it WAS finished. But the last royal person to cross the bridge was Louis XIII and when it half collapsed in the 17th Century the king didn’t want it to be repaired. The bridge was a very important route between Italy and Spain used by pilgrims.

The hippos seemed to like it and do you know what the Grandad Hippo had? Teeth that curled round the sides, you couldn’t miss them. He opened his great big mouth about three times! The hippos went for a dip in their water, they went right under, they can stay underwater for about six minutes.

When we got back to Avignon, we went to the Christmas market, bought some chocolate and I went on the merry go round. That evening my Mum and I dressed up nice and Daddy took us to Café Crillon to eat tapas. I liked the croquette emmenthal.
And today, we dropped Daddy to the airport, because he is working in Amsterdam, and then we drove home.
